These are handy links to knife and gear related sites that I enjoy, and think you will too. Also, see below for some YouTube Channel recommendations.
KnifeRights.org – Protect your right to carry and use knives. The Knife Rights Foundation is dedicated to encouraging safe and responsible use of knives along with defending knife owners’ civil rights through education and litigation. I highly encourage supporting Knife Rights, this is the equivalent to the NRA for knife enthusiasts.
BladeSports.org – The premiere knife sport. BladeSports is a non-profit organization designed to promote knife safety, provide workshops and events for its members, and to educate the public about knife safety and using knives as tools. If you are unfamiliar with BladeSports and are even remotely interested in knives, check this out!
Favorite Knife Blogs
The Edge Observer – A relatively new blog (even compared to BladeReviews) Andrew and crew are putting together some awesome reviews of some higher end production folders. The video reviews are some of the most amazing I have seen; I haven’t seen production like this ANYWHERE on YouTube before. Well worth checking out.
EveryDayCommentary – Tony does a fantastic job covering all sorts of knives, flashlights and related gear. He updates often and he has some really interesting insights into gear and life in general. It’s a relatively new blog, but it is easily one of my favorites.
The Modern Neanderthal – Nick Clayton does a great job with knife commentary and reviews on his website, the Modern Neanderthal. He covers a lot of the latest and greatest in pocket knives, and also has an excellent Podcast as well. Check it out.
Pivot And Tang – Really cool website with some beautiful photography and keen insights on interesting knives. The blog section has all kinds of nicely curated content regarding cutlery.
PocketKnivesBlog – A big “Steel Sahlute” goes out to my buddy Scott over at PocketKnivesBlog.com. Scott collects all kinds of knives and has done countless reviews on his website. If you are especially interested in classic American pocket knives (slip joints and the like) Scott’s site is the place to be.
Malodorous Thoughts – My friend “Roadkill” has a nice collection of guns and knives and provides some very detailed reviews. I especially enjoy his edged commentary, but everything from reviews to rants is well written and engaging.
The White Shadow Dojo – Dave is a man who isn’t afraid to speak his mind, be it blades, politics or anything in between. We have had quite a few chats and I also interviewed him which is well worth a view. He also likes to share his extensive knife collection, which is ever changing.
Spydercollector – This is the premiere blog for all things Spyderco. If you want the latest in Spyderco news and reviews, this is the place to go.
Nemo’s Knife Reviews – Hailing from France, Nemo has been reviewing knives for over 15 years now. Great photographs and commentary on knives that I don’t always see in the states as well.
The Truth About Knives – The guys over at TTAK run a news blog covering all things “knife”, and also write up some great detailed reviews. They publish content daily which is something I can only dream of doing.
KnifeNews.com – Alex and Seth started KnifeNews.com in 2015, and write about knife news. It’s an interesting site and a nice change of pace from review sites.
BestPocketKnifeToday – Matt Davidson does a nice job with his website BestPocketKnifeToday.com, where he reviews a wide variety of pocket knives.
Favorite Survival/Prepper/Gear Blogs
Stormdrane’s Knot Blog – This is a great blog on all things knots. SD is the man and he features tons of great knots and projects. There is also a good amount of blade-related coverage which I also really enjoy.
Blue Sheepdog – Blue Sheepdog is a site that is written mainly for law enforcement, but I find that is has a lot of very interesting articles, gear reviews and practical information. Richard is the chief editor on this one, and with years of work as a police officer under his belt I am always learning from his wealth of knowledge and experience. Blue Sheepdog also recently launched the Blue Crew which is a members-only portion of the site providing in-depth training, videos and special discounts with popular vendors. Well worth checking out if you are in law enforcement.
TEOTWAWKI Blog – An excellent survival blog that covers everything from gear to philosophy to tips and tricks. Everything you need to know for “TEOTWAWKI.”
Haus of Guns – Ebbs runs an awesome site/blog that covers all kinds of guns and gear. Great written reviews and videos as well. Haus of Guns – Practical Gun & Gear Reviews for the Average Joe Shooter.
ITS Tactical – A fantastic site loaded with quality gear reviews, editorials and practical tutorials.
JerkingTheTrigger – My buddy Matt runs one hell of a blog covering guns, knives and everything in between. He does some great reviews and is always talking about something cool.
Mil Spec Monkey – A great review and information site for all things tactical. Some really cool projects and stuff for sale as well.
Alliance Martial Arts – Pete over at Alliance Martial Arts runs a great site with some very interesting knifemaker interviews along with tons of articles on training, techniques and everything else related to martial arts and self defense.
James A Keating – Master At Arms James A Keating is a household name in the martial arts community. I recently had the honor of interviewing him and he is a really funny guy with some amazing insights. His website is constantly updated with new and interesting information. Well worth checking out.
