These are handy links to knife and gear related sites that I enjoy, and think you will too. Also, see below for some YouTube Channel recommendations.
Organizations
KnifeRights.org – Protect your right to carry and use knives. The Knife Rights Foundation is dedicated to encouraging safe and responsible use of knives along with defending knife owners’ civil rights through education and litigation. I highly encourage supporting Knife Rights, this is the equivalent to the NRA for knife enthusiasts.
American Knife and Tool Institute – American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) – Carry Your Knives With Confidence. AKTI works to ensure that you can carry the knife of your choice with confidence by removing or clarifying knife laws, providing valuable information, and promoting knives as fundamental tools in everyday life. AKTI has been the reasonable and responsible voice and advocate of the knife community since 1998.
BladeSports.org – The premiere knife sport. BladeSports is a non-profit organization designed to promote knife safety, provide workshops and events for its members, and to educate the public about knife safety and using knives as tools. If you are unfamiliar with BladeSports and are even remotely interested in knives, check this out!
Favorite Knife Blogs
EveryDayCommentary – Tony does a fantastic job covering all sorts of knives, flashlights and related gear. He updates often and he has some really interesting insights into gear and life in general. It’s a relatively new blog, but it is easily one of my favorites.
KnifeMagazine – Knife Magazine is a successor to print publication Knife World, which has been running as a monthly knife publication since 1975. They launched Knife Magazine in 2015 as a successor to Knife World, and in 2019 Knife Magazine re-launched their website and blog. Their blog is managed by H. Clay Aalders, who was at the helm of The Truth About Knives for many years. Knife Magazine will be a news blog covering all things “knife” and I am sure they will also write up some great detailed reviews.
KnifeNews.com – Alex and our own Seth Vietti started KnifeNews.com in 2015. They write about knife news. It’s an interesting site and a nice change of pace from review sites.
PocketKnivesBlog – A big “Steel Sahlute” goes out to my buddy Scott over at PocketKnivesBlog.com. Scott collects all kinds of knives and has done countless reviews on his website. If you are especially interested in classic American pocket knives (slip joints and the like) Scott’s site is the place to be.
Spydercollector – This is the premiere blog for all things Spyderco. If you want the latest in Spyderco news and reviews, this is the place to go.
Nemo’s Knife Reviews – Hailing from France, Nemo has been reviewing knives for over 15 years now. Great photographs and commentary on knives that I don’t always see in the states as well.
KnifeInformer.com – Matt Davidson does a nice job with his website KnifeInformer.com, where he reviews a wide variety of pocket knives.
MoreThanJustSurviving.com – Thomas and Elise crank out a lot of great knife and gear reviews as well as articles on preparedness and surivival on their website MoreThanJustSurviving.com. Check em out.
Favorite Survival/Prepper/Gear Blogs
Stormdrane’s Knot Blog – This is a great blog on all things knots. SD is the man and he features tons of great knots and projects. There is also a good amount of blade-related coverage which I also really enjoy.
ITS Tactical – A fantastic site loaded with quality gear reviews, editorials and practical tutorials.
JerkingTheTrigger – My buddy Matt runs one hell of a blog covering guns, knives and everything in between. He does some great reviews and is always talking about something cool.
Mil Spec Monkey – A great review and information site for all things tactical. Some really cool projects and stuff for sale as well.
Martial Arts
Alliance Martial Arts – Pete over at Alliance Martial Arts runs a great site with some very interesting knifemaker interviews along with tons of articles on training, techniques and everything else related to martial arts and self defense.
James A Keating – Master At Arms James A Keating is a household name in the martial arts community. I recently had the honor of interviewing him and he is a really funny guy with some amazing insights. His website is constantly updated with new and interesting information. Well worth checking out.
