BladeReviews.com was founded in 2010, and born out of a life long interest in knives and tools. The focus of this website is to provide high quality written reviews on all manner of knives: from massive fixed blades to tiny folding knives. We have since branched out into reviews of knife sharpeners, multi-tools, watches, and flashlights, but the common thread is thoughtful, hands on reviews of daily carry gear to advance your active outdoor lifestyle.

Dan Jackson – Editor – Dan is the creator of BladeReviews.com. The site was founded in 2010, and for the first 5 years Dan wrote all of the reviews and recorded all of the video reviews. He grew up using pocket knives, and the decision to start the website stemmed from his fascination of all things sharp combined with a deep passion for writing.
At this point he has personally reviewed almost 300 knives of all shapes, sizes, and price points. He is widely recognized as an authority on daily carry knives and has consulted with knife companies on product design and has been featured on national media outlets including the WireCutter. In 2016 Dan decided to branch out and experiment with the website by reviewing watches, flashlights, and multi-tools.
Today BladeReviews.com features a number of expert authors reviewing a wide range of daily carry gear. He is proud to write detailed long format reviews with original photography. The website remains largely independent with the vast majority of the products reviewed being purchased by Dan personally. When he isn’t writing knife reviews from his home in Southwest Florida, or talking about himself in third person, he enjoys practicing law, reading, fishing, cigars, and weight lifting.

Ethics
All products reviewed are purchased with our own funds unless noted otherwise. If a manufacturer provides product for review (rare), then it’s disclosed in the review. We enjoy a level of journalistic freedom thanks to advertising revenue and affiliate link revenue. We review what we want, when we want to.
A Word on Affiliate Links
I post links to Amazon and BladeHQ and I will typically suggest buying whatever knife I am reviewing through one of these stores. I have used these websites personally many times to buy my knives and recommend them. However, these are affiliate links so if you click on one of them and proceed to buy something I earn a small commission on anything you may buy. This is how I keep the site running. As required by Amazon.com I need to make the following disclosure:
BladeReviews.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc, or its affiliates.
Also, I want to mention that these affiliate links do not affect my reviews. In fact, the links actually allow me to remain independent, keep the website self-supported, and I have no problem telling you the pros and cons of any knife. It also allows me to publish the website largely free of banner advertisements.
I want to provide accurate information so you can make an informed purchasing decision. If you enjoy the reviews and want to support the site or simply say “thanks,” then feel free to use the links. I sincerely appreciate all your support and wouldn’t be able to keep things running without you.
